Wall Art

Joe and I have been tossing around ideas about what to put on the wall above his dresser in our room. Well, to be more accurate, I have been tossing around ideas and he has been listening, but hey, team effort, right? Here is what it looked like before:

Plain, right? BTW...that is my dad's dresser from growing up. Love family heirlooms :)

So then, I saw some fun ideas at some stores around town and decided to put them all together. This is what we have now (sorry for picture quality, not great):

Makes the wall a little more fun, right? That is across from our bed, so it is such a fun little piece of art to wake up to :)

That is baby Well's 20 week baby pic. He is sucking his thumb if you look close.

The first finds came from Francesca's clothing. Random I know. That is where I got the bird cage and the two pictures with the birds in them. I got all 3 of those pieces for $60 total, well actually $20 because I had a gift card from my wonderful mom! I LOVE the bird cage, it makes me smile.

The next piece was the map of Chicago with all of the 77 neighborhoods. The artist is actually a relative of Joe's friend, Nate. Her company is named Ork and she has cool maps of several cities now, check it out. It is hung with an old pant hanger. I am going to stain it a bit darker, but haven't found time to do it yet. It is hanging from a knob we picked up at Anthropologie in the sale section for $1.99.

On another note, got a super fun package in the mail from my bro, sis and mom this week. Feeling the love! Bro and sis both have something in common, they both involve basketball. A little hint into one of the loves of our family :)

Did you notice what the onesie says, "old enough to dribble, too young to dunk." So stinkin cute!

Then, my broski went to the Final Four in NOLA and got me this shirt! So proud of our Jayhawks for making it to the finals. Thanks bro for the shirts, love them!

My mama got me a gift card to Whole Foods, or should I say Whole Wallet! So one love is basketball, can you guess our other love...food, you got it!

Stay tuned, we start our project tonight!

36 weeks...1 more month!!!

What???? 4 more weeks until my due date! That makes me go through so many emotions. I just cannot wait to meet him, literally, cannot wait! It has not been made any easier that I have been so so so so sick this past week that I have been in bed thinking about the lil guy non stop. I finally went to the doctor on Monday. Not only did I have an ear infection, bad enough. I had a sinus infection and a cold on top of it. My goal was not to take any prescriptions throughout this pregnancy, but that went out the window. What does sick look like for me. Well, our bedroom has been so hot because our air conditioning is broken, so we inflated our air mattress and put it in the front room. Campout in the living room. Then, I have a trashcan beside the bed that is literally full by the end of every day. I have Vick's Vapo Rub and a doggie that keeps me company :) Finally, today I feel the meds kicking in, praise the Lord!

Here I am at 36 weeks (well more like 34.5 weeks when we took the picture.). I really don't know how I could get any bigger than this, but then again I said that 4 weeks ago! Crazy how cool the body is! In regards to how cool the body is, check out this video on the development of a child. It brings me to tears every time to see how incredible God is and what a blessing life is, just incredible.

How far along: 36 weeks
Total weight gain: Not sure I should share this, but what the heck...gained 30 lbs total.
Maternity clothes: oh yes and even the maternity clothes are getting small on me...yikes!
Stretch marks: None and hoping not to get any. Thank you for good genes and this amazing oil my mom got me at Whole Foods.
Sleep: Nope, not at all. Averaging about 4 hours a night. Everyone tells me it is preparing me for when the baby comes, so it is worth it!
Best moment of this week/month: Not baby related, but watching my beloved Jayhawks make it to the finals. Even though they didn't win, I was darn proud. Best moments of the month were the beautiful baby showers and the baby Wells prayer shower. I am blessed to have such amazing friends. Also, the pictures we took with our dear friend Susie, here is her blog.
Miss anything: Being able to see my feet when I look down... just kidding. Totally worth it!
Movement: This baby is a gymnast, doesn't stop kicking, especially right before bed. So fun to feel him hiccup now too.
Food cravings: tomato, avocado and cucumber salads. And the new one...mint chocolate chip shakes...oh so yummy!
Anything making you queasy or sick: nope- hooray!
Have you started to show yet: Getting bigger every day I feel like! 1 pound at least a week from here on out, crazy!
Gender: BOY!!
Labor signs: none, it will be crazy when I say yes to this.
Belly button in or out: In, but getting shallower (is that a word?), which is crazy because I am known for an oddly deep belly button.
Wedding rings on or off: Off. I don't like it, but they don't fit great now and I hear horror stories of people having to get them cut off.
Happy or moody most of the time: So super excited to meet the little guy. Besides being sick and a lil cranky, I am elated for the next chapter of our lives.
Looking forward to: Easter this weekend. Praise the Lord for the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. What greater gift is there than that. It will be wonderful to celebrate this weekend with my in-laws at The Moody Church!. Also looking forward to meeting the lil man this month!

A hint at what we are building next...

So, this last month before baby seems to be taking forever. Everyone has told me that it feels like a year, they are totally right! It's killing me, so to pass the time, Joe and I are going to take a crack at a new project.

Here are a few hints:

and here is one more for you...

Do I have you totally confused? Have any guesses? Well, more to come in the upcoming days...
