Painting a crib tutorial and our finished nursery

We lucked out! We are the last ones to have kids on Joe's side and so we got a TON of hand me downs. One being a crib. I know that cribs that have the side that lowers up and down are not allowed anymore, but I have to say I really like them! So, we loved this crib, but the color just really didn't go with our place. So we painted it with our beloved Annie Sloan paint. Here is the tutorial:

Before:

Step 1: put the crib on a blanket you don't mind getting dirty!

Step 2: paint the crib, nough said!

We mixed French Linen and Old White. Used more French Linen than Old White.

Step 3: Poly the whole crib to handle the wear and tear. Make sure you get one that is child safe and also make sure you give it a few weeks to fully dry and all before you put the baby in it. We used this one.

Finished crib before we had the nursery finished :)

Finished nursery photos, although everything in our house is a moving target and always getting changed...what can I say, I like to re-decorate!

A few things about the nursery:
*The crib skirt and the baby duvet I made. I will make a tutorial for both soon!
*The pictures above the crib are our maternity photos and then the mattes around the pic were signed with messages at each of our showers. Really sweet messages that I glance at every time I put him down to sleep.

If you have any questions about where I got stuff, let me know!
